At Legacy, we take pride in our family values. In our mission to leave a legacy every day, our team has the privilege of speaking with incredible people across the country. Heather Sanders, a Lowe's customer in Neosho, Missouri, was kind enough to share a remarkable story of how Lowe's and Legacy worked together to help change her family's life.
"I want to take a few minutes to give a HUGE shout out to the AMAZING team at Lowe's Home Improvement in Neosho, MO! Our son, Logan, was diagno
sed with Spinal Muscular Atrophy Type 1 (SMA), in September 2016. He is now 16 months old and will be getting his first powerchair within a few months. With time, we hope that he will gain enough strength to even push a manual wheel chair, like the one shown here! Due to his lack of muscle tone, pushing a chair takes incredible effort. We knew that the carpet we had in our house would make this extremely difficult for him to do; not to mention the dirt that the upcoming powerchair would track all over the carpet. We knew we needed to get rid of our carpet and find something that would be more beneficial to his needs over time. At legacy, we take pride in our family values. In our mission to Leave a Legacy every day, we have the privilege of meeting with great people from across the country.
I went to our local Lowes, and was assisted by Dan, who kindly helped me find the type of flooring that would best meet these needs. Unknowingly, he shared Logan's story with Clint, the service manager, who later called me to explain that they wanted to find a way to donate the entire project to our family. Clint spent countless hours working with vendors, manufacturers, installers, and team members to bring this amazing gift to life! He is truly the heart of this entire project, and my family is so grateful for all he has done for us!
My heart absolutely swells when I think of all the love, labor and generosity that was poured into the beautiful new floors in our home! Thank you SO MUCH to Clint, Dan, and Micheal from our local Lowe's, who donated so much of their time towards making this possible and helping with the installation. Huge thanks are also owed to Karen, Robert, Dustin, and Ian from Legacy Flooring, for their time and love that they contributed to this project. We'd also like to thank Heidi at USFloors for the monetary and material contributions. This was truly a team effort and we are so incredibly grateful for all who played a part in making this possible!
I feel like words will never fully express how thankful we are for the blessing that this wonderful team has given to our family. Through the first-ever, newly FDA approved treatment for SMA, God has given us the gift of time with our little guy, when just less than a year ago, we were told he would likely not see his 2nd birthday. Through their loving generosity, the Lowes team will allow us to enjoy that gift of time watching our baby finally gain his own independence on a floor that will allow him to best explore all there is around him! I truly cannot express how much joy this brings to my heart! To our family, these are so much more than just floors...they represent the future independence of our baby boy, and serve as a daily reminder of God's light that shines in what can sometimes be dark situations, as well as the love, kindness, and generosity that was found in the hearts of this wonderful team of people! We are eternally grateful for you all and I can't wait to share Logan's progress with this amazing team over the years! From the bottom of our hearts... Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU!!!! ❤️❤️❤️"
